How To Use Get Response Autoresponder System with Wordpress
The first thing you want to do is make sure that you’re running a version of Wordpress that is compatible with Widgets (Version 2.2 or later) and that you’re using a template that supports widgets. The reason for this that this is much simpler than trying to edit the HTML files directly and even if you do edit them, you run the risk of it not working because of the way that Wordpress interprets HTML.
One you have verified that you’re running a compatible version of Wordpress, you need to create your Web opt-in form in the control panel of Get Response. You can find information about how to do that on their site.
[Due to the many changes that have occurred in the admin panel of Wordpress as the versions change, you may have to click around until you find the corresponding menu item in order to complete the task.]
Then you want to go into your Wordpress admin panel and click on to “Presentation” ( this could be “Design” or “Appearance” depending on what version of Wordpress You’re running) and then “Widgets” and then scroll down the list of available widgets till you get to “text”. Click on “text” and paste the HTML code from Get Response into the text box that opens up. Save the changes, refresh your blog home page and test the form.
Tip: This should work for any autoresponder system, just insert the form from their site in the same manner described above. I’ve tried it with two different autoresponder systems and it worked with both.
